I’ve requested a White House tour for our wedding guests Saturday morning (not too early) before the wedding. This tour will include the Green, Blue, Red, and Vermeil Rooms, among others (sorry the Oval Office is not included).

Zach and I have gone on this tour a couple of times. And I took my parents on it a few months ago too. My mother swears that no matter where you stand in one of the long hallways, the eyes in a portrait of former First Lady (now Senator) Hillary Clinton follow you.

We hope to get approval for this request in late August, but wanted to give you a heads up. Should we be cleared to take the tour, we will need everyone’s Social Security number so the Secret Service can conduct background checks.

So those of you with distinguished criminal records (you know who you are—and so do we), may want to find something else to do that morning (may I suggest visiting one of the 51 53 Starbucks near the hotel?).
